This class will answer ALL of your questions about growing, harvesting, storing, prepping, and cooking with herbs! In this outdoor hands-on workshop, everyone will get their own potted herb to take home and you’ll help harvest fragrant herbs that we will use throughout the workshop. Also included in the class is a full walking tour of our farm, a hands-on knife skills lesson, and together we will make and enjoy several delicious herb-filled dishes, which we will sit down and enjoy together.

This workshop will cover the following topics:

• Culinary & medicinal herb identification

• Recipes, techniques, and tips for cooking with a wide range of herbs

• Understanding when to use fresh vs. dried herbs in recipes

• How to properly store fresh herbs to maximize shelf life

• How to properly and safely chop fresh herbs

• How to make homemade herbal tea blends

• How to grow, maintain, and properly harvest herbs in your home garden

More information about this workshop:

• LOCATION: Farmbelly HQ (4500 Lloydtown Rd, Mebane, NC 27302). The farm is located 15 minutes west of Carrboro, 20-25 minutes from Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, and 35 minutes from Durham.

• CLASS SIZE: The max class size is 10 people.

• WHAT TO WEAR / BRING: Please note this workshop takes place entirely outside (indoor restroom available). Please wear closed-toe shoes, and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty… you’ll be on a farm, after all! We also recommend bringing a hat/sunglasses and a water bottle.

• REFUND POLICY: Payments for classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you purchased a ticket and can no longer attend, we are not able to reimburse you for the ticket, but you are welcome to sell your ticket / have someone else attend in your place (just please let us know the name/contact info for the new participant).

• INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: In the case of severe inclement weather, the workshop will be rescheduled. If you are not able to attend the rescheduled date, your ticket will be refunded.
